My ABCs

Before I turn 40 my plan is to achieve all 26 goals on my Alphabet list: The list is by no means complete and will remain a work in progress.. But these are some of my ideas for the next 3 years!

Argus
Yes, I’m going to cycle the Cape Argus.  I’ll need to get a bike first… but hey, all in good time! Anyone want to join me?

Braids

Comrades
This one might be tricky.  My initial idea was to at least START the Comrades.  With my knee issues, there’s no way I’ll complete it – I just wanted to be there, walk 10km then go on my merry way.  But then it suddenly struck me, I can’t just “Start the Comrades”, I first need to qualify and that involves running a 42km and that’s not going to happen anytime soon!  So if anyone from the Comrades Committee is reading this, is there any way I can just start the race and be part of the “Comrades Experience?”

Disney World
On my USA (see “U”) trip I plan to take the kids to Disney World.. can’t wait to see them experience that!
E
Europe
No reason… but I envision the family cruising through Europe in a rented Winnebago, camping at backpackers and living off local produce. Look out for my blog “Europe on the cheap” !

F-Flat Reunion
yes girls.... now we have to do it!!  No excuses - before I'm 40, we have to have one final fines meeting - wa wa drink! Tentative Date is set for 5 March 2011 !!

Kruger Park
Now although I have been there, my kids haven’t (and neither has “the husband”) and since everyone must go to Kruger “at least once in their life” I’m willing to let “K” be a family affair.

Laurie
My “oldest” friend Laurie and I have known each other for 32 yrs!  Our kids are the age we were when we first met.  We don’t see each other often, but I know her favourite place in the world is the Kruger Park.  So when we go there, Laurie and her family will hopefully join us for part of our stay and we can have a long over-due catch up!

Read
I’m going to Read the “Top 100” books of all time.  Now I know there are many lists out there… but I’m thinking of using Exclusive Books list and just ploughing through that.  I am an avid avid reader, yet have never read “To Kill a Mockingbird” – I plan on changing that!

In 1992 I spent a yr in Plainview, Texas and in 2012 I plan to go back and visit all my host families!  My host sisters who ranged from 6 – 17yrs at the time are now married, with kids and generally respectable members of society (well at least I think they are!)!  Can’t wait to see them all again.

X-plore Cape Town
Let’s me honest.. finding something with an X was going to be hard and since “C” was taken, I decided to put my CT experience under “X”.  Although I have lived here for 10yrs there is still a lot I haven't done, so I plan to explore CT like a tourist.  Some ideas I have (and more are welcome):
·         Historical Journey: The museums, the Castle, firing of the noon gun, Robben Island (again), Rhodes Memorial
·         “Just because” Jourmey: Hop on-Hop off bus, train trip to Simons Town, sunset picnic at Clifton 4th
